TASC Conference / Workshop PoliciesEach workshop or event has specific policies related to the administration of the event as well. Click here to find TASC Policies. Find page numbers for specific conferences and/or workshops. POLICY ON ILLEGAL SUBSTANCESThe use or possession of alcohol, tobacco or other illegal drugs is strictly prohibited. Any student found in the possession or under the influence of these substances will be sent home from the workshop without delay at the expense of the student, his/her parents or the student’s school. Both the student’s principal and parents will be notified, and local and campus authorities may be contacted. Students sent home as a result of violating TASC policy will not be allowed to attend another TASC state event for a calendar year. POLICY ON WEAPONS/SAFETYAll workshop/conference attendees are expected to respect the rights and safety of others. Weapons of any type are strictly prohibited at TASC functions. Any person found in the possession an item that is used as a weapon or exhibiting irresponsible behavior that endangers the health, safety, or welfare of him/herself or others will be sent home from the workshop without delay at the expense of the student, his/her parents or the student’s school. Both the student’s principal and parents will be notified, and local and campus authorities may be contacted. (policy adopted November 2006) DRESS CODE POLICY »TASC requires that all students and adults participating in a TASC conference or workshop dress appropriately for that school-based activity. Unless otherwise stated, event dress is casual and projects a positive image at all times. Remember that you have something important to communicate. Our dress code is set at a higher standard than school dress codes because we represent our association. Please review the dress code carefully. FINANCIAL POLICY Schools who have an outstanding balance from an event, will not be able to register for future events once 6 months have lapsed from their original date of registration for the event with an outstanding balance. Cancellations and refunds will be permitted until one month prior to the start date of a particular event or workshop and must be made in writing to the TASC office ([email protected] and [email protected]). When applicable, the refund amount will be applied to the balance due. Each time a cancellation is made, there will be a transaction fee (⅓ of the registration fee) assessed per individual cancellation. No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations made less than one month prior to the start date of an event/workshop. Refunds will not be provided for event/workshop no-shows, regardless of the situation. |
